Syllabus for UWP 104D

Syllabus for UWP 104D with Andy Jones
Fall 2012

You will find most readings as links from this syllabus. Please let me know if a particular link dies, as happens a few times a quarter. Complete each reading by the day for which it is assigned.

Find all assigned readings as links from this syllabus. Complete each reading by the day for which it is assigned. Each of you should form three substantive opinions on each essay you read for our class. Expect me to ask you to begin any particular class by sharing one or more of these opinions.

As a student in an advanced writing course, you are responsible to research and address those issues that challenge the clarity and appropriate depth of your writing. To that end, take advantage of substantive online writing texts, such as the Open Access Textbooks hosted by Colorado State University, and online writing labs hosted by Dartmouth, UNC Chapel Hill, and Purdue.

The final exam takes place Monday, December 10 at 1:00 pm. It will test in part your ability to work with assigned readings to support an assertion with evidence found in assigned essays, all in a timed setting.
